Working with athletes is nothing new for Joe; coaching basketball, football and track for over 20 years. He has served as an athletic director and was a football referee for over 25 years. Joe has a way of inspiring and motivating athletes of all levels of talent, and leading them to be better leaders on and off of the field.
In 2014, Joe joined the Uncommon Athlete, a program that uses the power of sports to change lives and reshape communities. The Uncommon Athlete is a team effort of the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation and Rachel’s Challenge. Both of these organizations were inspired by two ordinary people—Cal Ripken, Sr. and Rachel Scott—who chose to lead their lives in ways to positively impact others.
Although Joe Coles has been a part of Rachel’s Challenge since 2012, by sharing his expertise in bullying behavior, Joe is extremely proud to be a part of a further development of the Uncommon Athlete, sharing his insights while spreading the message of these great organizations that impact the lives of millions across the nation.
